Introduction

My name is Robert and I’m a 24 year old originally from Houston TX. I have a lot of things I have to accomplish on my bucket list. I want to build an immaculate cedar strip canoe with cast bronze elements. I also want to build a sustainable, off-grid compound, to escape the city on the weekends. The third and most lofty of the goals is a wristwatch with a custom movement to pay homage to my uncle Rory; Using the numbers important to his life to make the gear reductions that guide my everyday routines. I could accomplish these dreams with existing machines and lots of money, but what’s the fun in that? I have a whole life ahead of me, why not enrich the journey? I have a general idea of where I want to start each dream, this site will track my progress.

I think of the path towards realizing my bucket list as a series of vertically integrated steps. The only thing I love more than making is learning, so this website will showcase my work, with a particular focus on my “Happy Accidents.” These are part of learning, and they inform my path forward.
